Music Trip

Eighteen high school band and choir students, along with three adult chaperones enjoyed a weekend in Minneapolis March 29-April 1st. Highlights included attending a guitar ensemble recital at the University of Minnesota, performing at the Eden Prairie Center and the Colony of Eden Prairie, experiencing ethnic foods and culture at Midtown Global Market, and watching the musical “Mama Mia” at Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. We also visited the Mall of America, and the students worked as teams to try to escape from Mr. Dupree’s Office and James Bomb before their 60 minutes ran out at Escape Minneapolis. Both teams came really close to escaping, and had a great time attempting to do so! In addition to the raffle sponsors mentioned in last month’s newsletter, I would also like to thank the Medina Lions Club, the Pettibone Lions Club, and the Women of the ELCA for their financial contributions, as well as everyone in the community who purchased a raffle ticket and those who gave concert lunch donations. The goal of broadening our students’ musical and cultural experiences was definitely accomplished, and we couldn’t have done it without our community’s support, so thank you!
