Our school hosted a career fair for our students and surround schools. Our students also had some life skills sessions with people for our community and surrounding communities. We are thankful to our presenters for sharing their talents with us, so we can learn more life skills. Some of today's lessons were: cleaning, laundry tips, changing a tire, checking oil, reading a pay stub and a bill. Lots of great lessons today!
BCI presented to our students in grades 7-12 about internet safety this afternoon, before our early dismissal. Please ask your child what they learned and signs to look out for online, to stay safe.
On Monday, Oct. 12, we will dismiss at 1:15 pm. We will have Parent-Teacher Conferences from 1:30-7:30 pm. We will have two internet safety presentations, from BCI, at 2:15 and 4:00 pm. There will also be a Title I parent information session at 5:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you at conferences!
Today was our Smart Choices Assembly Kick-Off! Our elementary students showed us their synchronized dance moves and our high school students shared their music lyric knowledge. Both groups learned about our monthly assemblies where students will be honored for making good choices. This month we will focus on safety and building relationships. We are looking forward to a great year!
Congratulations to Rory Hoffmann for receiving the Legacy of Service award at the ND School Board's Association Convention. Rory has served on the Medina School Board for 21 years! Thank you, Rory, for your service to our school and students!
Parent Teacher Conferences are Monday, Oct. 12 from 1:30-7:30 pm. We invite all our parents and guardians to our school that night, to visit with our teachers. We can't wait to see you!

Plan to attend one or both of the internet safety sessions, being presented by BCI at 2:15-3:00 and 4:00-4:45 pm. These sessions will be beneficial in navigating the world of technology and safety with your child(ren).
The Medina City Park sponsored a tree planting workshop through North Dakota Forest Service. The City Park is working to get a tree replacement grant. The tree was a small leaf Linden tree provided by NDFS. Some of our juniors and seniors were able to join the tree planting workshop last week. Thank you for including our students in this event.
It's College Application Day at MPS! Our seniors are applying for a college, of their choice. This is a great opportunity for our students. Good luck, seniors!
Library Events for October 2026
The August/September newsletter calendar had an Elementary BBB game schedule in Buchanan for Sept. 29. There was a change in the schedule. The Elementary BBB first game will be Monday, Oct. 5, in Medina.
School photo day is this Wednesday, September 30th. The photographer will be here in the morning to get individual photos of all staff and students in PreK through 11th grade. Order forms have been passed out to all students last week. If you would like to order online, the flyer has the url and code to order photos, otherwise bring the order form filled out to school. Can't wait to see all your smiling faces on Wednesday!
ND Hank spent the day with the 4th graders. Lots of fun learning was had.
