Medina, North Dakota, June 10, 2025.
The School Board election was held on June 10, 2025 at the Medina Public School. 71 patrons of the district voted to fill one City position and one Rural position. The results were as follows:
Rural position (one opening for a 3-year term):

Kurt Hayes 7 votes
Wade Reister 5 votes
Scott Moser 2 votes
Rural position (one opening for a 3-year terms):

Medina Public School has an opening for a bus route driver for the 2025-2026 school year. This route requires a CDL with school bus and passenger bus endorsements. The school district can provide the necessary training to obtain a CDL and endorsements for this position. Time is running out to order photos from the 2024-2025 school year. If you have not yet ordered your photos, please do so by June 30. Also, you still have a few days to take advantage of free shipping in the month of May!
There will be a girls' basketball open gym on Thursday, May 29 in Medina from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. All girls in grades 7-12 interested in playing basketball and participating in summer/off-season events are welcome to attend.
Attention!
If your child participated in the Summer Reading Challenge during the summer of 2023, they have until the end of May to use their Medina Bucks (even though it has an expiration of 10-01-24).
The Medina Bucks from the Summer Reading Challenge of 2024 are still good until October of 2025.

📅 Meal Pickup Day: Wednesdays only
🕚 Time: 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM
📍 Location: Stutsman County Extension Office
🥪 What you get:
A 7-day meal pack for each youth (age 18 and under). That’s a whole week of meals in one easy pickup! Just come back each Wednesday for your next box.
📝 Important Info:
• Our site is a closed-enrolled site this year.
• You’ll need to fill out a Parent/Guardian Consent Form just once before receiving meals. (You can do this right at our site.)
• Only one site allowed: If your child gets summer meals from any other site in Jamestown, they cannot also participate at the Extension site.

Here is some additional information regarding the PowerSchool cybersecurity incident that occurred in December. PowerSchool is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services for 2 years to those affected. This includes educators and current or former students. We would like to extend an enormous thank you to all individuals, families and businesses who have supported the yearbook by placing ads over the years. Due to the weather forecast for Friday, the South Central Regional Track Meet in Hazen has been moved to Saturday, May 17. The schedule of events will remain the same.
MPB Thunder Awards are tonight in Pingree at 6:00.
Flowers and plants can be picked up TODAY (Friday, May 9) from 3:30-7:00 pm, in the new bus barn. If you cannot get your flowers and plants today, please reach out to the student you ordered from, to make plans, as we need these plants picked up today.
After 33 years at Medina Public School, Mrs. Hoffmann is retiring!
Please join us in wishing Mrs. Kim Hoffmann a happy retirement on Tuesday, May 13th from 3:30 to 4:30 in the Medina School commons area.
The fifth and sixth graders took an industry tour field trip today to learn about a variety of career opportunities. Our first stop was the Jamestown Regional Medical Center where we learned about rehabilitation, nutritional services, the business office, radiology/ultrasound, and clinic services. Next, we visited RM Stoudt to learn about careers in sales, autobody & auto mechanics. Our third stop took us to the downtown area where we did rotational tours of Orriginals (graphic design, and print press/embroidery operating), US Bank (finance) and The Little Beauty Bar (cosmetology & entrepreneurship). Our final stop was at Allied Agronomy where we learned about careers in Agronomy, and seed/fertilizer sales. It’s always a full day and we run on empty by the end, but such a great learning opportunity that the students seem to enjoy!
