How can we promote positive mental health in our schools and communities? HAVE PHONE FREE SCHOOLS. What would you think if you walked into a classroom and saw students sitting at their desk with a monitor connected to their Xbox and Firestick? It would be a distraction to learning, right? When students have phones in school, they not only have access to movies, shows, and games, they are also bombarded with notifications of messages. For more information, please check out https://www.anxiousgeneration.com/

How can we promote positive mental health in our schools and communities? GROW OUR CTE CLASS OPTIONS. We have ag/shop classes, guidance and career exploration with our counselor, and our business and technology classes. We also have online, dual credit, and work-based learning opportunities for our students. We have students of all ages explore careers and different work places. How can we promote positive mental health in our schools and communities? We have continued to ADD MORE PLAY TIME DURING OUR SCHOOL DAY. Most of our elementary classrooms get 3 recesses a day. During this time, they interact with students of different ages. We teach them skills to communicate with others. Our students in grades 7-12, are able to be in the gym before school and during their noon time. Students get over 30 minutes to eat lunch and enjoy free time in the gym. For more information, please check out https://www.anxiousgeneration.com/

Thank you Smart Start Basketball for the 2 great camps. Our students learned valuable skills to help them on and off the court!

How can we promote positive mental health in our schools and communities? There are many recommendations for schools as well as parents, to grow less anxious children and adults. Here are the recommendations for schools: Play FULL schools, offering CTE and work-based learning opportunities, The Let Grow Project and going phone-free at school. Social media sites began in the early 2000s. The “like” button on Facebook and the “retweet” button on Twitter both started in 2009. This was the same time we began to see mental health issues arise.
