We value student attendance. If a student is going to be absent, please inform the office. If a student plans to attend or participate in an after-school activity, the student must be in attendance during the afternoon classes. If there is a reason a student needs to be absent, a parent or guardian must contact an administrator to get prior approval for the student to attend the after-school activity.

Our school board has approved a no cell phone policy for our school. This policy was decided after much discussion and consideration. We feel that this will allow our students to engage in their learning and the discussions around them, with less distractions. Watches are allowed, as long as they are being used as a watch. If they are being used as a communication device, they will be treated as a personal electronic device and will follow the same rules as a cell phone. Our policy aligns with area schools as we are working together to support a positive learning environment. If you need to get ahold of your child during the school day, please call the school. Students are expected to turn off and put away cell phones when they arrive at school. When the final bell rings, students may access their phones. We will continue to monitor this policy and support students and families in this transition.
The updated policy says:
Use of personal electronic devices will be prohibited at school during school hours. This includes, but is not limited to cell phones and ear buds. Cell phones should be turned off upon arrival at school and students should store cell phones in their locker when they arrive at school. Cell phones must be turned off at all times while at school.
Violations will be dealt with as follows: First offense: the teacher will confiscate the device and the student may pick it up in the office at the end of the day; Second offense: the teacher will confiscate the device and a parent/guardian may pick up the device at the office at the end of the day; and the Third offense: the device will be confiscated and the student is subject to further disciplinary action that may include suspension.
