Tomorrow, May 4th is the last day to sign up for State FFA Convention that will be held June 7-10th @ NDSU. This convention is open to 7-12 grade FFA members. Sign up sheets are in the Ag Room.

The University of Jamestown is offering a Creative Smartlab Camp on July 8 & 9 for students entering grades 3-8. This camp is FREE and seating is limited, so sign up soon at uj.edu/slc

The Medina Close-up/FFA plants from the fundraiser will be ready for delivery/pick-up on Friday, May 7th after 3pm until 8pm or Saturday, May 8th from 9am-Noon.

Today the 8th graders joined us for North Dakota History class. We learned about different products made in ND, and found the cities on our maps. Thanks to all the companies that donated samples for us. A special thanks to our two local stores, Reister’s and Kramlich-Deede’s for donating yummy pepper sticks, jerky, and donuts!

Medina’s Prom Grand March begins at 7:30 pm Saturday night. Gym doors will open at 7:15 pm. Cost is $2/person for watch Grand March. Prom attendees need to be at the school by 7:00 pm and go to the history room with their belongings. Couples have scheduled prom pictures times.

Parents of students in grades 6-11, you will be receiving a letter in the mail with your child’s class schedule for the 2021-2022 school year. The letter will also include class requirements, expectations, and qualifications. Please check, sign and return the bottom portion of the class schedule, for each child. If you have questions, please call the school and ask for Mrs. Aaseth or Mrs. Hofmann.

Congratulations to Calli Mack and Abby Helm on receiving a $500 Elks Scholarship. Calli & Abby will be attending the Bismarck State College next school year. Calli will be majoring in Elementary Education and Abby will be majoring in Power Generation Technology. Way to go ladies!!!

Congratulations to Derek Reister who received a $1,000 AgCountry Scholarship. Derek will be attending the University of North Dakota next school year and plans to major in Mechanical Engineering. Way to go Derek!!!

Several of our archers placed in the top ten in the ND State NASP Tournament. By placing in the top ten, these students have also qualified for the National Tournament which will be held virtually this year. The Medina FFA (WLC) and Close-up students are once again selling plants. There are over 20 students selling and they currently have sheets and are selling face to face. Today was our kick-off to our baseball themed reading month for our elementary students. Our HS baseball players joined in the reading fun!

Thursday the K-6 celebrated our Kids Heart Challenge (Hoops for Heart) fundraiser. As a group we had 43 students participate and raised $7402.19! These efforts will provide $600 for new PE equipment & of course save many lives! Our top fundraisers from each class got to Pie a Teacher & Ms Hattlewick was the favorite getting 6 out of the 7 pies! Thanks for being a good sport! Our Top Fundraiser was Sage Pelerberg and she got to pie her teacher Mrs. Carlson (3rd picture)! Thank you for all the support!!
