Due to the impending weather, The Stutsman County Spelling Bee has been postponed to Wednesday, February 19. The Junior/Senior Health/Science Day at Aberdeen has been cancelled. There will also be no archery practice on Wednesday morning.
The Medina FFA Officer Team went to KSJB this morning to record radio spots for the upcoming FFA week. So, tune into 93.3 FM and 600 AM during the week of February 22-29th to hear the officers.

Reading at Reister’s on Thursday, Feb. 13 has been changed to 2:25-2:45 pm.

K-6 students kicked off their Hoops For Heart fundraiser yesterday morning. Students should have received a fundraising envelope. To setup online fundraising go to www.heart.org/kidsheartchallenge. Our school goal is $3500! Contact Mr. Thielges will questions.

Our elementary students sang the National Anthem at the boys basketball game tonight. Great job kiddos and Mrs. Bosche!

Three members of the Medina FFA Chapter received SAE Grants from the ND FFA Foundation for $1,000 each. Members were Kaje Gudmestad, Emily Carlson, and Calli Mack. Kaje currently has his SAE in the area of beef production but would like to start an SAE in pheasant production. Emily currently has a SAE in the area of grain production placement and is working to expand that placement into an entrepreneurship. Calli has an SAE in the area of diversified livestock and is always looking to expand her SAE.

Ms. Gonzalez, the student teacher in the Ag classroom, is incorporating some Medina Alumni as guest speakers in the classroom. She invited Gunner Buskness who recently graduate from Lynnes Welding back in December to discuss his time at school and had him demonstrate to the class.



Highway Patrolman Paul Sova, stopped by Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms today to read and discuss about bullying.

Makenna Bosche & Logan Reister were among over 500 singers who performed together at Concordia College this past weekend. They sang "Zion's Walls" by Aaron Copland, "The Road Not Taken" based on Robert Frost's poem, and a Kenyan song entitled "Wana Baraka". Great experience!
Our student council is rising money for Hunter Pinke, a graduate from Wishek, who was in a skiing accident over Christmas. This week, students can wear hats for $5 for the week. They can also purchase wristbands. Student council will collect money at school this week.

Today Mike, the bus driver, came in and did art with the 4th graders. They loved it! Thanks Mike!




Team Time today was designing a team flag and playing games!




Tickets on sale through February 10th and can be purchased from 7th-11th grade music students or by calling the school ($12 adults; $6 students 12th grade and younger). Only 200 tickets will be sold, so don’t delay in securing your seat!

The January 18 GBB/BBB double header with Ellendale that was postponed has been rescheduled. However, it is no longer a double-header. Here are the dates and times. All games will be played in Medina. Please spread the word about this update.

Our staff is learning CPR and First Aid today. Thank you to Brian and Renae for providing training for 36 staff and coaches!



Tomorrow’s double-header boys and girls' basketball game with Ellendale has been postponed. A make-up date has not been set yet. Also, the Junior High boys' basketball tournament scheduled for tomorrow in Steele has been postponed. A make-up date has not been set yet for that tournament either. Notification will be sent when make-up dates are set. There will be NO after-school activities tonight.
