
Cordell Volson, of the Cincinnati Bengals, visited our school this afternoon. His message was about putting in the hard work and setting high goals. He was raised in a small town in North Dakota. Today is Acalympics in Linton. We have a JH and SH team competing. The senior high competition will be televised on BEK, starting at 7:00 pm. Good luck!



The Medina Booster Club supports various activities in our school, including (but not limited to) the following activities: Bingo for Books, Spelling Bee, Music, Post Prom, FFA, and sports programs. The Medina Booster Club is serving concessions at the Elementary Volleyball Jamboree on Tuesday, March 19. They are looking for people to help with concessions and tickets. You do not need to be a Booster Club member to help with this fundraiser. If you or your high school child is available to help with concessions, please contact Angela Moser or Mary Wick. If you can’t help with your time, but can support financially, please visit with either of these two and they can help. If you have questions, please call the school.

Next week March 18-22, Student Council will be sponsoring a fundraiser to raise money for Joe Hunt, the UPS man. All proceeds will go towards his medical and PT expenses. Students can wear hats for $5 for the week.


Parent Teacher Conferences are on Monday, March 11 from 1:30-7:30 pm. We hope to see all parents at conferences, as this is a great time to discuss your child(ren)'s progress and learning. We will dismiss school at 1:15 pm.


Do you have a student looking at colleges, trade schools or training after high school? Mrs. Foth will have an informational session for parents during Parent Teacher Conferences on Monday, March 11. This will focus on financial aid and paying for college/training programs. NOTICE is hereby given that on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, the annual Medina School Board election will be held. The polling site is the Medina Public School and polls will open at 9:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM.
School board members whose terms expire in June 2024 are Rural Representatives Jeremy Schmidt and Shawn Lachenmeier. These are 3 year terms. To have your name placed on the ballot for the Rural position, you must be a rural resident of the Medina School District.
Residents who wish to be on the ballot must file their name in writing along with a Statement of Interest before 4:00 PM, April 8, 2024. The Affidavit of Candidacy and Statement of Interest forms are available from Business Manager Dawn Moser, Medina Public School, 300 School ST SE, Medina, ND 58467.

Summer Coast Guard Adventure Opportunity
Students interested in serving their country are encouraged to consider participating in the AIM program (Academy Introduction Mission). It is available to students between their junior and senior year of high school.
This summer adventure (in July) provides the opportunity to explore technical degree programs and help humanity. During six action-packed days, participants are immersed in Coast Guard tradition and Academy life with cadet leaders in the engineering lab, on the playing fields, on the parade grounds and on the water.
Participants study, compete and create. Test their mind, body and spirit as they build lasting friendships with students from around the nation!

Just a reminder that ALL 8-12 band students and 9-12 choir students will leave tomorrow morning at 7:30am for large group music contest in Washburn. We will be back around 2:30pm. Students should either bring money for lunch or pack their own. Dress code is the same as concerts.

Our Kids Heart Challenge Fundraiser for the American Heart Association wrapped up last week. The goal was to raise $10,000, the final amount raised is $10,506.24!!! This effort will give our PE program $850 toward equipment from US Games and will provide resources for the American Heart Association to continue helping people with heart issues!


Students in grades 8-12 participated in the Alive at 25 Defensive Driving course. Certificates of completion will be sent to the school and then distributed.

The Medina Booster Club is having a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 29 at 5:30 pm at the school. This meeting is open to the public. During this meeting, the Booster Club will share the plans they are working on with the Medina Park Board on a project for our community.


Thank you to Renae & Brian for training our staff as well as 9th & 11th grade students in CPR, First Aid and using our AED! These are lifesaving skills we are so glad we all know. Thank you!


The District 2 Boys' Basketball Tournament is still on schedule. MPB will play Linton-HMB at 4:00 at the Civic Center. Go Thunder!

Come to the Lutheran Church on Sunday, March 3 for lunch. Proceeds will go to Mike & Teresa for medical costs and travel expenses.


Medina School and buses will be 2 hours late this morning. There will be no archery practice and breakfast will not be served.

Kids Heart Challenge donations are due tomorrow Friday, February, 23rd. If you have collected cash donations please convert it to a check made out to the American Heart Association. This makes things easier!
Also, if you signed up online please take time to watch the Hand's Only CPR video and Stoke Video which are a part of Finn's Mission. If we have 50% of our online students complete these we will receive $500 in US Games Gift Cards.
