
Today was our kick-off to our baseball themed reading month for our elementary students. Our HS baseball players joined in the reading fun!

Thursday the K-6 celebrated our Kids Heart Challenge (Hoops for Heart) fundraiser. As a group we had 43 students participate and raised $7402.19! These efforts will provide $600 for new PE equipment & of course save many lives!
Our top fundraisers from each class got to Pie a Teacher & Ms Hattlewick was the favorite getting 6 out of the 7 pies! Thanks for being a good sport! Our Top Fundraiser was Sage Pelerberg and she got to pie her teacher Mrs. Carlson (3rd picture)!

As we get closer to registration for next school year, I wanted to inform parents about the opportunity for their child to take dual credit courses through Dakota College at Bottineau. The criteria to take these courses is below:
• Student must be either a sophomore, junior, or senior.
• Student must have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.
• Student currently taking NDCDE online course adequately paced themselves and were not approached by administration to stay on track.
• Students must have a “A” in their first semester English or Composition class.
• Seniors who are interested in taking math or English must meet the following ACT requirements.
- ENGL 110 requires an ACT English score of 18.
- MATH 103, MATH 104, & MATH 210 require an ACT math score of
21.
- MATH 105, MATH 107, and MATH 165 require and ACT math score
of 25.
Any student who meets the above criteria will be sent a letter home in the postal mail next week explaining dual credit courses more in depth.


REMINDER: Title 1 is sponsoring a Fun Family Night on Monday, March 29th. There will be lots of kids’ books to win playing bingo. This event is for all kids from pre-school through 6th grade. The entire family is invited to this event. There will be pizza for supper and lots of books to win, and the best part is it is FREE!
Bingo for BOOKS/supper will begin at 6:00 pm in the Medina School lunch room.

We have 2 teams competing in Linton tonight for the Acalympics competition. The JH team did great and the SH team begins at 6:00 pm. It is televised on BEK.



The 9th and 10th graders in action learning CPR from the Medina Ambulance Service. Thank you Brogen and Renae for providing your time and efforts so our students can learn these life saving skills!!





Our 9th and 10th grade students finished their First Aid and CPR training last Thursday. Thank you Brogan and Renae for training for CPR and Mr. Thiegles for First Aid training.


Parent Teacher Conferences are tonight, Thursday, from 2:30-8:30 pm. Please take our parent survey while you are here. You will see a QR code to scan/take photo when you get to the school. We appreciate your feedback.

Medina School will dismiss at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 18 for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Conferences begin at 2:30 and end at 8:30. Archery practice will run from 2:00 to 3:00 on this day. Track practice will begin at 2:10 in Medina. There will be no elementary VB practice.

Central Valley Health is planning a Pfizer vaccination clinic on Thursday, March 18 from 3:00 to 5:00 at the Jamestown Civic Center. Students who are 16 or older are eligible for this vaccine. Parents should register their child at the link below for an appointment – the on-line registration includes the parents’ signed consent and would then allow the student to come to the clinic alone without a parent present if desired.

Dakota College at Bottineau is hosting a virtual dual credit informational session on March 23rd at 2:30 PM or 6:30 PM. This session will last about 30 minutes and provides a general overview of dual credit. It is for anyone interested in learning more about the dual credit and LEAP programs at DCB. The Medina Booster Club will have a meeting on Monday, March 22 at 7:00 PM at Medina School. If you are interested in being involved in the Booster Club, please plan to attend this meeting.

The elementary VB match on March 15 will be played in Pingree instead of Buchanan. Start time is 4:00.


On Monday, March 8th at 7:30 pm there will be a Medina FFA Alumni Meeting in the Medina Ag Ed classroom. The meeting will also be offered via zoom. If you would like a zoom link, please email Ms. Vandehoven at jenny.vandehoven@k12.nd.us
We are always looking to expand our membership, so if you are a former member or just a supporter of FFA we would love to have you come to the meeting. We do several things throughout the year to benefit and enhance our local FFA chapter. Even if you are on the fence about joining, you can come Monday and check it out or if you would like more information you can contact Ms. Vandehoven at the school.
