During the school year, Destiny Opp earned the Great American Award. Today, Cliff Naylor, from KFYR, who met Destiny this past school year when doing a story on our 5th grade class signing the Pledge of Allegiance, surprises Destiny this morning to present her the award!

Volleyball open gym will be held each Tuesday night from 5:30-7:00 and will rotate each week between Pingree and Medina. This week (June 23) open gym will be in Pingree. Open gym is for all students who will be in grades 7-12 in the 2020-2021 school year.

There will be volleyball open gym in Medina tomorrow (June 16) at 6:00 for students who will be in grades 7-12 in the 2020-2021 school year.

Medina High School prom has been cancelled for the 2019-2020 school year. We were hoping to hold a prom event sometime this summer, but that is no longer a possibility. Please spread the word about this cancellation.

Larks Reading Game Night!
The game has been moved to June 27. Tickets needs to be reserved by June 19. You can visit their site to see their social distancing rules for a safe, fun evening!


Medina High School Graduation is scheduled for Sunday, June 14 at 2:00 PM in the Medina High School Gymnasium. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Medina Public School is placing limitations on the graduation ceremony. Each graduate will be given a limited number of tickets to invite guests for graduation. Only individuals with tickets will be able to attend graduation. For those unable to attend graduation, it will also be live-streamed on https://www.youtube.com/MagnitudeSports or https://www.msportsnet.com/watch.html If you are unable to attend, we encourage you to watch the livestream. Thank you for your support of our graduates and school!


The Summer Food Service Program provides free meals to kids and teens age 18 and younger. These are grab and go meals, and parents/guardians are able to pick up meals for their child. (They may pick-up more than one-day’s worth of meals, up to 5 days.) The pick-up sites are in Jamestown, but these services are still available to Medina children.

We are hiring for a Math Corps tutor to support our learners in grades 4-8, in the area of math. If you are interested in the position or have questions, please call Mrs. Hofmann at the school for more information. The position includes a living stipend and money for college (up to 7 years) for you or you can gift it to a child or grandchild if you are 55+.

If you have a 4 year old who is one year away from attending Kindergarten, our state DPI has an in-home Kindergarten readiness program, UPSTART, available to you. It does NOT take the place of preschool. It is 15-20 minutes/day focused on reading and math/science instruction.

May 15 is the last day of distance learning and the last day of the school year for Medina Public School students (and parents). All iPads, Chromebooks, chargers, and school textbooks must be returned to the school during the week of May 18-22. These items can be dropped off daily between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Parents and students may also pick up any items that were left in classrooms or lockers during this time. Thank you to all parents and students for your patience and support. On Friday, May 15, we will honor our Seniors and retirees, in a parade around town. Celebrate our seniors as well as Mrs. Zink, Joey Guthmiller, Marretta Kuhn and Math Kuhn by being along a street in Medina between 7:00-7:30 pm. Please follow social distancing guidelines.
