Parents, FFA Members, Faculty and Sponsors, the FFA Banquet scheduled for April 3rd is postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will keep you up to date as to when the banquet will take place. Sponsors, I ensure you that students will still get their awards and be recognized for all of their hard work. So, thank you for sponsoring the Medina FFA and students involved. As always if you have any questions or concerns please contact Ms. Vandehoven at jenny.vandehoven@k12.nd.us

Today, our teachers met for a virtual staff meeting. We shared how it was going and we discovered a few things that might help parents and students.
*ALL learning opportunities will be posted by 8:00 pm the night before, if the teacher is posting daily learning.
Elementary (PreK-5): Teachers will try to limit to 1, possibly, 2 posts/day, so you can plan your day accordingly.
High school (6-12): Students need to check their email DAILY before noon each day to make sure they don’t have messages. Use your first.last@k12.nd.us for email.
We hope that ALL students are NOW accessing the learning opportunities through their designated learning platform: Class Dojo, Class Facebook pages, Google Classroom and/or teacher pages on our Medina website.
As always, reach out if you have questions and continue to give us feedback as we navigate through this time.
THANK YOU for your patience.

**many students are trying to use their google account (ex. thofmann@medina.k12.nd.us). That account is just for access to your Google apps (Classroom, Meet, etc). You cannot email through that account. You need to use the office.com (Office 365) to access email.

Here we go!
Tomorrow, we begin a new adventure with online learning. Grades 6-12 will communicate through Google Classroom. Grades 5, 4, 3 and 1 will use their Facebook Classroom groups. 2, K and preschool have their class Dojo pages.
If you don’t have access to what you need, comment below and I will message you. Or call me at school tomorrow.
Also, let’s get up for the week and if you would like, join us in another spirit week. This time, thinking of all those affected and those who help us through this pandemic. Take a picture and comment with your teacher!!

Parents with students taking NDCDE classes:
You are getting an email, right now, about the 1 week extension.
There is also a link about proctoring tests in the email.
https://www.ndcde.org/information/exam-administrator/tests-and-exams
Please, if you have any questions, please email me or contact me. I will be in contact with parents about your child’s specific testing password.

Parents in grades 8-12 who have a child in an online NDCDE class:
If you receive a weekly email on Monday morning at 5:05 am, your child is in an NDCDE class;)
These classes are continuing as normal. Please have your child login to their class and keep moving with the class pacing.
Today, I gave NDCDE permission to send parents the testing passwords. I am not sure how soon that will happen. If your child comes to a test and needs a password, I have my computer at home with me. Please email me (Tara.hofmann@k12.nd.us) or message me and I will give a parent the password as long as you are there to monitor your child during the test.
If you have ANY questions about NDCDE classes and course work, please reach out to me.

Students in grades 6-12 will be utilizing Google Classroom and Google Meet. Parents, your child is already familiar with these formats. If you want to know more, this resource might be useful.

Our staff has been working diligently to get materials ready for “learning opportunities” in case we have an extended school closure. Teachers will begin posting activities and materials on their classroom Facebook page, Class Dojo, Google Classroom, or the school’s individual teacher pages. Please check these sites to access the materials and activities. Teachers will also be in contact with students and parents throughout this process.
On Thursday, March 19 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, students and parents will be allowed to enter the school building to get Chromebooks, iPads, textbooks, or personal items. If students and parents are unable to pick up items during these hours, please call the school to make other arrangements.
We are asking parents to contact the school if you DO NOT have access to high-speed internet so that we can work with local providers to ensure everyone has access.
Lastly, if you have any questions, please contact the school. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this together.
