The Summer EBT program provides food assistance to households with school-age children who are eligible for free or reduced-priced school meals during the summer when they don’t have access to meals at school. Children are automatically eligible and would not need to apply if the household applied for and was approved for Free or Reduced-price meals at an NSLP participating school or is receiving SNAP, TANF, or FDPIR benefits or receives MEDICAID and is income qualified. Children may also be eligible if their household is experiencing homelessness, is a migrant household, or is in foster care.
Children who do not fall into any one of those categories or whose household meets the income requirement for free/reduced-price school meals but has not completed a free/reduced-price meal application at an NSLP participating school must apply to determine eligibility for this benefit.
Check eligibility or apply online at ndsummerebt.nd.gov
The benefit is $120 per eligible school-aged child. Summer EBT cards are mailed to each eligible child and must be used within 122 days of issuance.

This week begins our end of the year state testing. Students will have breaks and will be tested in 20-50 min increments, once or twice a week, depending on their age and level. It is helpful for students to get good rest, breakfast, and time at school. Our students have grown in their learning and skills this year and we are proud of them. Do your best!

Our music students have made me so proud once again! 22 entries performed in Washburn last Thursday, and we came home with 9 entries advancing to State Music contest on May 3rd! A girls' vocal ensemble also received an Outstanding Performance award, chosen as the top performance of 43 ensembles! You can hear our contest music at the April 24th high school spring concert.

Today was Team Time! We started with a speed conversation session. Students introduced themselves to each other, answered a question and then moved and introduced themselves to someone new. What a great way to get to know each other! We also had some time to partner read as we wrap up March Reading Month.

The 5th and 6th grades had a wonderful experience to wrap up our Reading month. They went to “Book Diners” and did a “Book Tasting”. Each table had a different genre of books. They had time at each table to read a few pages or “taste” a book at each table. The students enjoyed their tasting (plus the snacks) and hopefully experienced new genres of books they maybe haven’t tried before.

Here is a link to the schedule for the elementary VB jamboree that will be held in Napoleon on Thursday, April 3. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1okGc7I2_MJcEYz7NegQkORZtDFwj_fb3uyO-vg4fYdw/edit?gid=0#gid=0
